How can i get rid of echo's in Fruity Loops 10 (producers edition)?

currently in sawer mode and ive finally figured out how to reduce the note so its not a constant sound through the entire count (ie u have the first key selected but the sound resonates through the enitre beat) but how can i get rid of the echo resonateing through the reduced beat ive created?
