Help me out: was I wrong in this situation?

you should go with someone who will enjoy it as much as you otherwise you'll both have a bad time. If your dad wants your mom to have the 'concert experience' then he should pay for her to go and see someone she likes. It can be expensive but that's why people don't go all the time. If he is so bothered about you having a real concert experience then you should definately go with a friend. If you take your mom you'll spend the whole time worrying what she thinks of the artist and the songs, and you won't enjoy it as much. So no you're not wrong. I wouldn't want to take my mom to see someone I really liked and she didn't, especially if I had a friend who did like them.
