Can You Set Your Computer Back To 1 Year Ago With System Restore??????

I'm trying to set my computer back to 1 year ago with system restore because May 26th (2010) was actually when it started messing up so I'm trying to restore it back to its original settings, but in system restore -- in one part-- it will only allow you to set it back to March (2011), but in another part it actually WILL allow you to select your own date to set your computer back to, but my question is, do you know if it will allow me to restore it back to 1 year and 2 months ago, like, will it even allow anyone to go back that far? Thanks!
